THE LIVES OF OUR CHILDREN WOULD NOT BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOUR SACRIFICES
Camp Compass Academy has officially announced its latest educational staff additions. Ms. Elaine Conner and Mrs. Daisy Pearson both retired master teachers have joined our staff to provide support in the after-school portion of our program. Mrs. Pearson will be handling the mathematics and Ms. Conner will be responsible for the Language Arts lessons. Our new help combined with our current after-school director Russ Reigel, who is a retired master Science teacher gives our children over 100 years of teaching experience.
John Annoni, an Allentown School District teacher and founder of Camp Compass Academy, has been awarded a first prize honor from a pool of close to 12,000 nominees in the National Thank You Day program.
National Thank You Day was launched with a contest to search for one small deed that deserves one big thank you. Sponsored by merci® Finest Assortment of European Chocolates in collaboration with the EmilyPost Institute, the National Thank You Day Contest hopes to encourage people to remember and recognize the everyday acts of kindness shown to us by asking people to nominate someone whose good deed has gone a long way to help or inspire them. “The simple words, thank you, have the power to make our world a more civil place,” says Peggy Post, etiquette expert and best-selling author for The Emily Post Institute . “When you express appreciation, you can’t help but notice its positive impact. These words, when sincerely expressed in any form, can bring happiness, change attitudes and influence people.” One-hundred first prize winners received an autographed copy of Post’s latest book, Excuse Me But I Was Next…The Top 100 Manners Dilemmas and a box of merci Finest Assortment of European Chocolates. Annoni whose work goes well beyond the normal classroom walls was humbled by the honor. “Being chosen out of that many people is a pretty neat deal.” “I guess my efforts to save kids have some momentum and are being noticed nationally.”
